Higher Education at the Heart of Growth
From Sunday 11 to Tuesday 13 March 2012, one hundred British and Dutch delegates will meet at the Museum of Science and Industry in Manchester to share ideas on how higher education institutions can help to promote growth and create jobs during a time of profound economic uncertainty in Europe.
Keynote speakers at Apeldoorn 2012 include British Minister of State for Universities and Science, Rt Hon David Willetts MP, and Dutch State Secretary for Education, Culture and Science Halbe Zijlstra. (Click here for a full list of confirmed speakers and here for the conference theme document.)
Since its inception in 1999, the Apeldoorn: British-Dutch Dialogue Conference Series has become a vital bilateral forum where the most influential commentators, policymakers, politicians, business leaders, academics and civil society representatives from the UK and the Netherlands can pool ideas, expertise and best practice, and create new relationships, alliances and networks.
The Series is jointly organised by the British Council Netherlands, the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office and the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and is generously supported by sponsors Abellio, AkzoNobel, BP, ING, Marsh Nederland, DoubleTree by Hilton, Royal Bank of Scotland, Royal Dutch Shell, Unilever and Urenco (UK) Ltd.
